Understanding PEMF

PEMF is a safe non-invasive modality with no adverse side effects. However, to ensure safety, an owner or practitioner should undergo specific training to understand all practices, application methods and operating practices when using any electromagnetic PEMF device. PEMF Contraindications - VERY IMPORTANT!

 

Below are the contraindications for PEMF. These contraindications apply to the practitioner using the machine, the individual receiving a session, and anyone within 10 feet of the therapy. If you have questions, please contact your physician or veterinarian. 

 

No Active Bleeding

PEMF increases the circulation in the body, which can increase blood flow to an area with active bleeding. Some seeping is ok, but stop the session if you notice any blood.

 

No Battery-Operated Implanted Device 

PEMF can drain the battery on battery-operated implanted devices (ex: pacemaker, defibrillator, cochlear implant, etc.). In extreme cases, PEMF may interfere with internal component operation. If the implanted battery cannot be removed or recharged, then do not conduct sessions.

 

No Pregnancy

There is no research available to assure no effect on the fetus while in utero.

 

No Organ Transplant

PEMF has been shown to stimulate the immune system. If someone has received an organ transplant, they are most likely put on immunosuppressants for the body to accept the organ. PEMF would then be deemed counterproductive to that therapy. 

 

No External Metal Fixator or Metal Screws

PEMF can be used over internal hardware, but we recommend speaking with a medical professional when using PEMF around external metal.

 

No Stents without Medical Authorization

With the use of various manufactured products, it is necessary to confirm safety of interaction PEMF therapies. Check with a medical professional or the manufacturer to make sure they are compliant.

 

Medications

When an animal undergoes medication alongside MagnaWave, the PEMF exposure enhances cellular function. Consequently, this optimization may accelerate the metabolism of the medication. As a result, the medication’s effects could peak earlier and potentially diminish more rapidly, creating a potential window of reduced coverage between doses. Consult a medical professional in cases of:

• Cancer

• Blood clots, deep vein thrombosis

• Autoimmune diseases 

• Blood Pressure 

• Hyperthyroidism

• Stents
